Assorted freeze dried treats arranged on a wooden board

A colorful, crisp, and naturally sweet snack you can make at home with just fresh fruit and a deep freezer! These freeze dried treats are healthy, fun, and shelf-stable for months — perfect for lunchboxes, snacking, or adding crunch to your favorite recipes.

Ingredients

·        2 ripe bananas, thinly sliced

·        1 cup fresh strawberries, halved

·        1 apple, cored and thinly sliced

·        Parchment paper

·        Large baking tray

·        Freezer space (deep freezer recommended)

Instructions

  • ·         Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

    ·         Arrange the sliced bananas, strawberries, and apples in a single layer, ensuring no pieces touch.

    ·         Place the tray flat inside your deep freezer.

    ·         Leave uncovered and undisturbed for 5 to 7 days.

    ·         Check dryness by pressing a fruit piece — it should snap or crumble.

    ·         Store in vacuum-sealed bags or airtight containers with oxygen absorbers for best shelf life.

Notes

  • ·  You can use dry ice for faster results if you don’t have a freeze dryer.

    ·  Avoid fruits with high water content (like watermelon).

    ·  Add freeze dried fruits to cereal, yogurt, or baked goods for flavor and crunch.
